Built on one question

Why do athletes run faster on a rubberized track? Founder and inventor Bill Crow spent years chasing that question, and the answer turned into a product: put material more resilient than a rubberized track inside the shoe, and the athlete carries the surface with them.

That work produced four U.S. patents — the first ever issued under the performance-enhancing athletic shoe component category — covering resilient performance materials in inserts, insoles, midsoles and soles. More than 30 years of refinement later, Springsoles are still ultra-thin, still trim-to-fit, and still made in the USA.

Springbak® has been evaluated in university human performance laboratories, worn by professional and collegiate athletes, and tested in the least forgiving lab there is: competition. We are a small team that believes the ground contact side of performance deserves as much attention as the training program built on top of it.
